Less than a month ago my client would not be in the presence of a mask or allow anyone in his family to wear a mask without requesting to be all done and engaging in tantrum behavior. My clients mother, the behavior technician, and I worked on a shaping program to get him comfortable with the mask being in his presence and then touching the mask. He then started putting the mask on his mother and slowly putting it on himself. My client's mother reported that he wore a mask for over an hour in the grocery store this week without attempting to take it off at all!
